The Canadian government introduced the Canadian Express Entry in 2015 to fulfill economic needs and simplify the immigration process in Canada.
The Express Entry System is a popular way to apply for a Canadian visa. This year (2021), it celebrated its 6th anniversary since its launch.
To apply for a Canadian visa through the Canadian Express Entry system, you need to submit your personal profile into a central system. The government then uses a draw to select qualified applicants and move them to the next stage.
What makes the Canadian Express Entry system exciting is that Canadian companies can hire skilled individuals from the pool of visa applicants for their organizations.
Furthermore, different provinces in Canada can access the pool of visa applicants through the Provincial Nominee Program to meet their labor market needs.
This article will explore the advantages and provide all the necessary information about the Canadian Express Entry system, ensuring a smooth process when applying for permanent residence in Canada.
The following are the benefits of Canadian Express Entry:
- Faster processing of candidates
- The government can track the number of visa applicants at a glance
- The Canadian Express Entry system is efficient
- The computerized Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) makes it easier to select candidates
- Visa applicants have the opportunity of networking with potential employers
- The Canadian Express Entry doesn’t involve much paperwork compared to the manual way of applying for a Visa
The Canadian government uses this point system to evaluate and rate the personal profiles of applicants in the pool. Generally, applicants with higher scores rank above those with lower scores. Essentially, four factors are used to give scores to the applicants.
The factors are as follows:
- Factors relating to arranged employment or provincial nomination
- Human Capital Factors
- Common-law partner or Accompanying Spouse factors
- Transferable skill factors
If your personal profile fulfills any of the mentioned factors, you will receive a high score. This will lead to your selection in the Express Entry draw and an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
But, if your profile doesn’t meet the requirements, you have the chance to enhance it by focusing on human capital aspects such as work experience, education, language proficiency, and skills.
International graduates
Are you someone who finished university and wants to move to Canada? The Canadian Express Entry was made for people like you. If you have the right education, the Canadian Express Entry system will give you around 150 points for your profile. And if you studied at a Canadian university, you’ll get an extra 30 points.
Job Offers
If a company from Canada has given you a job offer for a senior management position and you have completed the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), you would receive 200 points, increasing your chances of being chosen for permanent residency. If you have a highly desired skill, you would get an extra 50 points.
Invitation To Apply (ITA)
If your personal profile gets a good score and you’re chosen in the Canadian Express Entry draw, you’ll get an invitation to apply for permanent residency by mail. When you receive the invitation, apply for the resident permit right away. Otherwise, if 90 days (3 months) pass, Canadian authorities will think you’re no longer interested in moving to Canada. If you truly want to live and work in Canada, think about using the Canadian Express Entry.
